Meet FS teacher Kanika Dhamija

Accounting lecturer Kanika Dhamija tells us about the most pivotal moment in her life, and why teaching brings her so much joy.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at Trinity College?

For me, teaching is an incredibly rewarding career. It offers unlimited possibilities to influence generations of students, imparting to them the excitement of learning.

It’s also a way of making a difference in the lives of others. I feel teaching is a profession that makes a direct impact on creating a better society. It is the shaping of minds and shaping of futures.

What was your favourite subject at school and why?

My favourite subject was maths because I understand it. To me, maths is very straightforward. My maths teacher said that maths is the language of the universe.

What is your favourite thing about Australia?

Living in Australia means encountering many opportunities; it is a multicultural and open country with an ever-growing economy. Australia's quality of life and unrivalled natural beauty make it the ideal destination if you have ever dreamed about improving your future.

Has there been a pivotal moment in your life?

A pivotal moment in my life was my entire pregnancy and birth of my daughter. There is nothing in the world quite like becoming a mum.

What’s the most valuable piece of advice you’ve been given?

Don’t ever stop learning and growing as a person.
