Kay Goldsworthy Installed As Archbishop of Perth

On Saturday, 10 February 2018, the Rt Revd Goldsworthy (TC 1981) was installed as the 8th Archbishop of Perth.&nbsp;<br /> &nbsp;

Previously serving as an Assistant Bishop in Perth, and then as Bishop of Gippsland and a member of the Board of Trinity College, Kay undertook her theological training at the Trinity College Theological School. She was ordained deacon in 1986, and was among the first women to be ordained priest in the Australian church in 1992.

In 2017, Kay was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in the Queen's Birthday honours list for 'distinguished service to religion through the Anglican Church of Australia, as a pioneer and role model for women, to church administration, and to pastoral care and equality.'

She has returned to Trinity on many occasions, most recently to speak at a 'Women In Leadership' seminar, and to launch the Revd Canon Professor Dorothy Lee's book, The Gospels Speak: Addressing Life's Questions.

Kay is the first woman to hold the title of Archbishop within the worldwide Anglican Communion, although two women have held similar positions internationally. We congratulate Archbishop Kay on this latest appointment, and wish her every success is this distinguished role.
