Foundation Studies is a robust academic program for high-achieving international students who wish to broaden their outlook and work hard to gain entry to a course of their choice at the University of Melbourne.

Please note that Trinity College will base assessment on results in relevant academic subjects. The above minimum entry requirements are deemed to be equivalent to Australian Year 11. Trinity College may issue a conditional letter of offer based upon first semester, forecast, mock or preliminary results. 

English language requirements

Depending on the student’s country of origin, evidence of language proficiency may include results from:

  • The Trinity College English Test
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Pearson PTE Academic

Some students will require an IELTS certificate in order to meet immigration requirements of their student visa application. If there are variances in IELTS band scores, a student's appropriate intake may be revised by Trinity College Admissions staff. For some countries, a satisfactory mark in English satisfies Trinity College English language requirements.
