Trinity College has been abuzz with activity with the Trinity Institute's Young Leaders Winter School attracting more than 170 high school students from Australia and around the world.
Week one of the July school holidays saw students arriving to attend ‘The Persuasive World’, young jazz enthusiasts ready to participate in the Juilliard Winter Jazz School, and passionate Korean science students ready to experiment and research the latest trends.
The students watched an illusionist perform, visited the Magistrates Court, solved a murder mystery, participated in music tutorials and performances, and were entertained by the Juilliard Jazz sextet.
On Sunday 10 July, the second week of the Winter School began with more students arriving to participate in the new Leadership for Social Justice program.
The students have been inspired by addresses from Philip Wollen, Zoe Whyatt, Kirsty Albion, and Julian Burnside AO QC, and participated in other activities such as hip-hop dancing and drama improvisation.
Young Leaders Winter School Director, Sue Karzis, said the programs were a great success.
‘Our young leaders students have not only listened to amazing speakers, participated in different and challenging activities and learned valuable leadership skills, they’ve formed new friendships too,’ Sue said.
‘I feel so blessed to have had such incredible experiences,’ said Ayesha Midha.
‘The program gave me the opportunity to meet and learn from inspiring people and share it with other talented youths from around the world.’
