The AGL Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship to Oxford
Alumni of Trinity College who are heading to the University of Oxford for postgraduate study are encouraged to apply now for the AGL Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship.
The Scholarship, of $45,000 AUD a year, is awarded to an alumnus of Trinity College who is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and has been accepted into a postgraduate course at the University of Oxford. Preference will be given to students of history accepted into Christ Church College. The scholarship is awarded to assist with residential and living costs during this postgraduate course.
Professor AGL Shaw, a Fellow of Trinity College, alumnus (TC 1935) and Dean (1922-1951) was a Professor of History at Monash University. After graduating from the University of Melbourne in 1937, he continued his studies at Christ Church College, Oxford, graduating with 1st Class Honours. He retained a strong affection both for Christ Church and for Trinity throughout his life.
Applications must be addressed to the Deputy Warden of Trinity College, Campbell Bairstow, and must be received by June 17, 2018. Applications should include proof of admission to Oxford, a detailed description of the studies to be undertaken, and evidence of personal circumstances, including finances, that may demonstrate the merit and timeliness of scholarship support.
