Theological School Deacons' Day

On Friday 4 November, Trinity College Theological School held a Deacons' Day for last year’s students, who are all soon to be priested in the Anglican Church.

The day began with a celebration of the Eucharist in the Trinity College Chapel, followed by a plenary session where discussions centred on opportunities for lifelong learning, finding time for prayer and reflection, setting priorities, professional standards and worship in the broad catholic tradition.

Before sharing lunch together, students participated in discussions on presiding at the Eucharist or preaching the lectionary or professional standards.

‘All who attended appreciated the opportunity to come to Trinity and share their ideas as a community and discuss issues that affect us all in our daily activities,’ Dean of the Theological School and Frank Woods Distinguished Lecturer, the Revd Dr Dorothy Lee said.

‘The success of the day has encouraged us to repeat this initiative next year to maintain an active link for our recent alumni with the Theological School and with the wider Trinity community.’
