Melbourne International and Domestic Airport is located approximately 20km northwest of Melbourne. Taxis, coaches and hire car services are available from the airport to the city. Trinity College offers new students an airport pick-up service which costs $80 per person billed by Trinity College after arrival.
This cost is close to the cost of taking a standard public taxi from the airport which many students and parents do. In many instances, a taxi is less expensive than the airport service, however, the pick-up service allows a more personal service to be provided for the student.
If you wish to be met at the airport on your arrival, please complete the airport pick-up form.
Students arriving on a Saturday, Sunday or Monday must submit their airport pick-up form by 11am AEDT on the previous Friday. For students arriving between Friday 1 March–Friday 4 March 2013, airport pick-up request forms need to be submitted no later than 1pm on Thursday 28 February 2013.
Airport Pick-Ups
Do not panic if the chauffeur is not at the meeting place; just wait at the designated place until the chauffeur arrives. If you have to wait more than 30 minutes, call the emergency number 1800 813 813 and you will be given assistance.
Chauffeur Meeting Points
The chauffeur from Hughes will normally be there 30 minutes after your flight has landed. It takes about 30 minutes to get through customs. The chauffeur will be wearing a uniform and he will have a Trinity College sign visible and will have a list of students' names. Your name will be on the list unless you forget to tell Trinity College Foundation Studies that you are arriving.

Domestic flights
You may have arrived in Australia at another international airport, and then caught a connection to Melbourne airport on a domestic flight. If there is a delay in your international flight and you are put on another domestic flight to Melbourne, you must call the emergency telephone number: 1800 813 813
Penalty for No-Shows
Do not leave the airport once you have requested a Pick-Up.
A penalty charge of $100 will apply if you do not cancel your booking. All cancellations need to be confirmed by Trinity College during business hours. If that is not possible, please call Hughes at +(613) 9403 1900 at least two hours before the scheduled arrival time.
2 Persons Per Vehicle
Please note that you may be travelling with another student who will be arriving on the same flight and travelling to the same/close location. If you wish to book a vehicle for yourself only, you may do so for the "extra person" cost of $80. This cost will be in addition to your usual $80 pickup cost. Therefore a total cost of $160 will apply. This fee will be charged to you by Trinity College at a later stage. Please let us know at the time of requesting for Airport Pick-up Reception.
Excess Baggage
As you may be travelling with another student in the same vehicle, we can only allow for one (1) suitcase and one (1) piece of hand luggage for each student. Students carrying in excess of the allowance may have to pay for the transporting of the excess baggage if extra transport is required (refer to "2 Persons Per Vehicle" for the extra cost of $80 should you wish to have a vehicle all to yourself due to excess baggage).
