Trinity Musicians Help Charity Appeal

Siobhan Stagg (TC 2007) and the Choir of Trinity College performed in a lunchtime concert at St Michael’s Church, Collins Street on Sunday 20 May.

Proceeds from the concert ($2,700) will go towards The Big Tent Appeal – a project of the Revd Dr Francis Macnab’s, which helps disadvantaged children.

A sizeable and enthusiastic crowd responded warmly to Siobhan’s two groups of songs from opera and operetta, and also to the Choir’s items, which ranged in style from Renaissance motets to contemporary composers.

Siobhan also sang during the morning service at St Michael’s, and Dr Macnab, as a preview to the concert, interviewed Michael Leighton Jones about the Choir and its forthcoming tour to Germany, the Baltic States and Russia. This was the Choir’s third visit to St Michael’s and, judging from the reaction of the audience, its most successful concert there yet.
