Trinity offers more than 100 scholarships each year to residential students. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic excellence, personal qualities, and the student's likely contribution to the College community.

Trinity College awards scholarships totaling approximately $1 million across all of its programs. The Scholarships range in value from $100 to the payment of full residential fees of more than $20,000.
Scholarships add intellectual and cultural strength to the community by enabling students from a wide variety of backgrounds and with a broad range of interests to join the College.
College scholarships may be categorised as:
-
once-off – available only once to any particular student
-
renewable – must be applied for and awarded each year of the student’s residence
-
continuing – awarded for the full term of the student’s course providing they maintain academic grades and are good members of the College community.
All students are eligible to apply for a scholarship.

However, graduates are expected to be in residence for the standard full duration of the graduate degree they are undertaking.
