Drinks Under the Oak 2012

The cool evening last Thursday didn’t deter more than 150 alumni from gathering at the Deanery for the annual Drinks Under the Oak event.

Due to the Dining Hall renovations, the Oak area was not able to be used and Acting Warden, Mr Campbell Bairstow, hosted the event on the Deanery Lawn. Friendships were renewed within and across cohorts, whose entry years ranged from 1943–2010.

The evening also included the Annual General Meeting of the Union of the Fleur-de-Lys where new committee members, Secretary and President were announced. The outgoing President, Mr Stuart Bett (TC 1978), also welcomed incoming President, Ms Margot Foster (TC 1976).

Welcoming the group, in particular a large group of young alumni back to the College, the Acting Warden provided an update on key developments at Trinity including healthy numbers across all areas of the College, updates on the Dining Hall redevelopment and an invitation to the upcoming 140 Year Anniversary Celebration Dinner to be held at the Melbourne Museum on 25 August.
