Choral Scholars at Trinity College combine the singing of the weekly services in the Chapel with an exciting array of recordings, concerts and tours outside term.
All singers receive a scholarship and while all are encouraged to apply for membership of Trinity College, this is not obligatory. While many singers study at the University of Melbourne, there are others who study at Monash, RMIT, Swinburne, and elsewhere.
Directly before semester, at the beginning of each year, singers meet for a special residential Choir Week at Trinity College at no cost to themselves.
Choral Scholars who are not pursuing vocal studies at the University, receive free singing lessons with Christopher Roache.
All Choral Scholars receive weekly coaching from the Director of Music.
Choral Scholars receive free Dinner in College on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, whether resident at the College or not.
Many Choral Scholars sing in the Choir throughout their studies, but all are required to audition for their place at the end of each year.
The Director of Music is keen to receive applications and to meet and hear prospective choral and organ scholars at any time of the year: please contact him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the audition bring an accompanied, classical, song or aria, which you feel shows your voice to its best advantage. A pianist is provided.
