Summer School
The Young Leaders Summer School is an intensive two-week program designed to give talented secondary school students from Australia and overseas a taste of university life and an opportunity to enrich their knowledge and skills with stimulating subject matter in a residential environment.
The Young Leaders Summer School enables students to:
- be intellectually challenged by leading academics in a range of subject areas
- enjoy fun extracurricular activities
- build understanding and friendships with other young people from across Australia and around the world.
Three years ago we identified our Young Leaders Summer School as an opportunity to build a pathway for Indigenous students from secondary school to tertiary studies. The objectives include encouraging them to complete secondary education, to ignite an interest in tertiary education and to show them that a University degree is also within their reach. This program helps to identify potential candidates for the new BA (Extended).
We are looking for funding to further develop and support the Summer School program and for scholarships, in particular for indigenous and refugee students.
