Making a Difference
The education that Trinity College offers has been providing students with a competitive edge in the worlds of business, public service, law, medecine, the church, education, and the arts for over 125 years.
This education includes teaching and
personal mentoring by dedicated tutors, focusing both on high academic performance
and the needs of the individual student. This is backed up by a supportive and
caring College community, the opportunity for lifelong friendships, opportunities for student leadership,
and participation in the best aspects of extra-curricular life - in particular, sport,
cultural activities, and service to the wider community.
These core
elements of College educational experience are thriving at Trinity
today. Together with the Theological School and our innovative Trinity
Foundation Studies program, they give the College its special
character and strong appeal.
Over the past two years, the College's
Board has been reviewing and highlighting the resources that will ensure Trinity remains at the forefront of Australian higher
education in the years ahead.
As always, there are immediate needs to be met and
long-term investments required to secure our future. The goal has been
to balance the two and, at
the same time, to ensure the highest priority is given to the
maintenance and improvement of physical facilities, retaining first
rate academic and administrative staff, providing
student support, and strengthening endowment.
In 2000, the College engaged distinguished architect
Professor Peter Elliott to work with us to create an
architectural master plan. This rigorous examination of the College's
physical needs, many of which are acute, resulted in solutions that can
be implemented in a
logical and cost-effective sequence.
This is a crucial time in the history of
the College. Trinity is widely
recognised as a leader in Australian higher education. It is poised to consolidate this position as
an outstanding tertiary institution, building on strong traditions with new
vigour and creativity, and setting its course to strengthen further the
meaning, value and benefits of a college experience in the 21st
century.
To create the ‘catalyst’ environment to
which we aspire will require significant investment in facilities and endowment for funded staff positions and scholarships.
Help Trinity and its' students to take this next significant step.
