An Exhibition by Kerry Holland from Brisbane was on display from 26 June to 15 August 2007 in the College Chapel.
Requiem from death through to new life 2007
oil and mixed media on canvas
From the recent exhibition held in the ACU Gallery, Fitzroy, four of the eleven paintings in a body of work exploring the theme of darkness to light are exhibited.
The artist says I hope these images might be a starting point for pondering the mysteries of life with its dark, empty places and places of truth and light.
A booklet of the 11 images is available for purchase and the following four images are reproduced courtesy of Kerry Holland.

Garden
‘And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.’ 10/11 John 12:32 WEB The first idea for this painting came while listening to a choir singing the carol King Jesus hath a garden of diverse flowers by John Rutter. The gathering all people into a creative, diverse unity is an exciting hope. |
Crowning
‘Let eternal light shine upon them, 0 Lord, with Thy saints for ever, for Thou art merciful.’ 11/11 |
