Arriving from New Zealand, aged 17 and knowing no-one, Trinity College gave me the support I needed to face the challenge of leaving home for the first time. By the end of O-week I must have made almost 100 friends in Melbourne.
In first year I joined sport teams, the musical and the play to meet as many people as I could. In second year I consolidated friendships and pursued activities I truly enjoyed, such as being an O-Week buddy, running committees and designing the set for the musical. When my Architecture course suddenly became more difficult, the support of my Trinity tutor was invaluable.
Now in third year and a Residential Adviser, I have become the support rather than the supported. Trinity has given me skills and friends that will last throughout my life and career, and I now feel confident to take on the next challenge.
