Peter is a very highly qualified administrator who has worked at Trinity College for a number of years, and has recently joined the Theological School as its Registrar. His own training has been in economics and musicology, with a particularly interest in Australian music. He is an experienced choral singer and composer. In addition to his duties as Registrar, he will later be teaching a new unit in Church Music.
Peter began his assocation with Trinity College as a member of the Choir (1999–2008). He was non-resident tutor in Music in 2002–03, and Lecturer in Music in Trinity College Foundation Studies 2003–04. In July 2004 he commenced as Administrator of the Chaplaincy department at Trinity before becoming Registrar in the Residential College in 2005. He was appointed to the position of Executive Officer in the Warden's Office at the beginning of 2011.
Born and raised in Canberra, Peter completed undergraduate degrees in Economics and Musicology at the Australian National University (ANU). As a postgraduate research student he gained an MMus from the ANU and a PhD from the University of Melbourne for studies of Australian choral societies and choirs. He has published several academic articles and three books on aspects of Australian music. He is treasurer of several musical organisations, editor of two academic journals, and is frequently called upon as a choral singer and composer.
