Now you see them, now you don't!
Thursday 9 April 2009
The six tanks have been completed and backfilling commenced.
Water tanks β what water tanks?
There is not much to show now for all the tank-building activity of recent weeks β except for a few white pipes protruding above the ground like periscopes. The six giant concrete tanks are now buried for all time beneath the Bulpadock.
The next stage is to install the irrigation system and prepare the surface in readiness for laying the turf.
Trinity College apologises for the temporary
inconvenience and loss of amenity for students, staff and visitors
caused by this work.
The tanks have now been covered over.
However, this short-term inconvenience will be more than offset by the long-term benefits of harvesting rainwater that is currently wasted.
Itβs all part of ensuring the grass is greener - and keeping it that way.
This is a Trinity planitgreen
sustainability project β one of a number of environmentally responsible
projects being undertaken progressively by the College.
