Now there are three (almost)
Friday 20 March
The new water tanks are appearing at an amazing rate, with the third one now nearing completion and construction running half-a-day ahead of schedule.
Excavating is finished, although the existing hole scarcely seems large enough to soon be accommodating the required total of six tanks.
The safety fence has been temporarily relocated several metres to the north of its original position and currently encloses the brick pedestrian path. This has been necessary to provide access for the concrete trucks while the first three tanks are being poured.
The fence is now covered in pale green shadecloth printed with an explanation of the work being carried out. Alternating panels also carry the planitgreen logo, which identifies the various sustainability projects being undertaken by the College.
Trinity College apologises for the temporary inconvenience and loss of amenity for students, staff and visitors caused by this work.
However, this short-term inconvenience will be more than offset by the long-term benefits of harvesting rainwater that is currently wasted.
It’s all part of ensuring the grass is greener – and keeping it that way.
