Why choose Edith Head Hall?

  • A high level of pastoral care. We take time to connect with students on a daily basis to support them with their practical, personal and emotional needs.
  • A home away from home. We value a strong family atmosphere at Edith Head Hall and enjoy a community dinner every weeknight.

  • Supporting study for all students. Edith Head Hall upholds the Trinity College tradition of the highest academic standards and encourages students to realise their full academic potential with a high level of support from staff and a variety of quiet study areas. Our weekend staff run sessions for students to aid them in their studies.

Since 1872, Trinity College has been a leader in providing a residential community for university students. In this tradition, Edith Head Hall offers academic support modelled on the program that has been enjoyed by residential students at the College for more than 100 years.

Located only 15 minutes walk from the Trinity College main campus and close to the centre of Melbourne (180 Chetwynd St, North Melbourne), the hostel provides safe and secure accommodation for female Foundation Studies students. While Edith Head Hall is primarily for students under the age of 18, older applicants will be considered if rooms are available.

The live-in Manager, live-in Evening Supervisor, Administration Assistant and Weekend Tutors provide supervision, mentoring and pastoral care alongside other academic and extracurricular support.
