This endowment supports students enrolled in a course of study required for Medicine

This endowment provides partial funding to students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course of study required for Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and who is also in residence at Trinity College. 

Dr Susan Lim (TC 1977) is a world class clinical transplant surgeon with many accolades attributed to her long standing surgical career. A Colombo Plan Scholar, Dr Lim was in residence at Trinity College while she studied medicine at Monash University. She graduated with first class honours in 1979.

She was awarded the G.B. Ong Gold Medal in General Surgery (1984) by the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and the Gulbenkian Scholarship, Churchill College to undertake a PhD in Transplantation Immunology at the University of Cambridge, UK in 1985.

She holds Fellowships at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the American College of Surgeons, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate at the University of Newcastle and is also a Fellow at Trinity College.

Dr Susan Lim is noted for her leadership and work in the global advancement of medicine and the support of medical research and students. This endowment, established in her name by her husband Mr Deepak Sharma, honours Dr Lim and acknowledges their strong relationship with Trinity College.
