Q. Is there an application fee?
A. No.
Q. When should I apply?
A. As soon as possible. Usually we need an academic transcript to process your application.
Q. What grades do I need?
A. Trinity has high academic requirements and the entry level depends on your academic background.
Q. Do I need to sit an English test?
A. Not necessarily. You can put in an application with only your academic results and Trinity will assess whether you need an English test. In the meantime you may be issued an offer, conditional upon the result of an English test.
Q. Can I apply if I am an Australian citizen or permanent resident?
A. No. Trinity College Foundation Studies does not accept Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.
Q. Are there any scholarships?
A. Yes. Trinity offers a range of scholarships.
Q. Where can I find out information on university courses?

Q. What happens if I cannot get into the University of Melbourne?
A. TCFS students are guaranteed places at the University of Melbourne if they achieve the required scores.
If you do not achieve the guaranteed mark you may select another course at the University of Melbourne or can apply to other Australian universities. Acceptance to universities internationally is on a case by case basis.
Q. Where do I live?
A. There is a range of accommodation options available to students, many within walking distance of the campus.
Q. Where is Trinity College and the Foundation Studies program?
A. Trinity College is located on the campus of the University of Melbourne, approximately 1.5km from the centre of Melbourne.
Q. What are my class times?
A. Every student is issued with an individual timetable of classes.
Q. What support is available?
A. Trinity College provides individual attention for students, both academically and personally.
The personal wellbeing of students is essential to students achieving their goals. Therefore a number of services are available to assist students including a counsellor, student welfare team, chaplain and emergency telephone number.
Q. Are there special arrangements for students under 18 years of age?
A. Yes, particularly in relation to accommodation and general welfare.
Q. Are there extracurricular activities?
A. Trinity actively encourages students to be involved in extra curricular activities but they are not compulsory. Various clubs and societies are available, from sport to music.
