Psychology
Objectives
Using both theoretical and practical teaching methods this course examines the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to individual and group behaviour. The course aims to introduce students to the broad framework of psychological theory and principles that help to explain human behaviour in a number of different situations and environments. Practical demonstrations and experiments, both in and out of the classroom, are designed to help students understand the theoretical concepts underlying human behaviour. On a practical level, the aim is to develop students' skills in teamwork, decision making, problem solving, communication, motivation and stress reduction techniques. It is envisaged that this course will help students to develop a greater understanding of themselves, as well as the behaviours of other people.
