Lecturer in Charge
Stephan has been teaching Drama at Trinity since 1995. In this time he has directed numerous student-devised performances, led professional development workshops in Creative Thinking for Principals and teachers in Singapore, and conducted specialised drama workshops for both the University of Melbourne Law Faculty, and with visiting international education Counsellors. Previously he worked as an actor in the Arena Theatre Company Melbourne, taught professional acting in London and Sydney, and taught Drama in Victorian secondary schools.
Mr Russell
Beedles, BA, DipEd Melb, MEd LaTrobe
Russell
has been teaching Drama at Trinity since 1998. Much of
his professional life has been spent in teacher education, as a lecturer
in the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne and at
Hawthorn Institute of Education. For his Master of Education at LaTrobe
University, Russell did research into the Creative Arts Therapies and
his thesis was on the Development of the Avant-Garde in Paris
1863-1913. Russell's short stories have been published in Australia
and overseas and his plays have been performed and won prizes.
Currently he is putting together an exhibition of his photographs
'Acquaintances With Friends'.
Ms Rosemary
Blight, BA, DipEd, MEd Melb, NLP Practitioner
Rosemary
has been teaching with Trinity College Foundation Studies since the
program commenced in 1990 and played an important role in designing the
program in its early years. Previously, Rosemary taught Drama and
English at Xavier College in Melbourne and was herself educated at the
University of Melbourne, specialising in Arts and Education. Rosemary
has undertaken research in using Drama as a teaching methodology for
communication skills, confidence building and cultural orientation,
specifically with regard to students from non-english speaking
backgrounds studying in Australia at a tertiary level.
Mr Danny Fahey, BEd Vic College
Danny has taught Drama at Trinity in two stints. First in the years
1996 to 1997 and then from 2001 until the present day. Danny once
taught at Holmesglen TAFE and once travelled around Victorian schools doing
educational theatre. He is married, has two children, a very old dog
and writes for the Carton Football Club under the psuedynom The Ghost
of Optus Oval.
Mr Ernie Gray, BEd Rusden, GradDip(Acting) NIDA
Ernie
has been at TCFS since 2000 and teaches Drama. He is a graduate
from NIDA and Rusden State College and has thirty years' experience as a
professional actor in theatre, film and television. In between acting
jobs he has taught at Preshill and Xavier College and is now more
selective and fits his acting work in between his teaching at Trinity.
He is a former Chair of the mainstream Drama Panel for the Greenroom
Association.
Mr Jack
Migdalek, BEd Vic College, DipTEFL/TESL ELC UK, MEd Deakin
Jack
commenced with Trinity College Foundation Studies in 1997. Prior to
coming to Trinity College, Jack worked in theatre and theatre in
education as a performer, writer and director both in Australia and the
United Kingdom. He also lived in Japan for six years where he
taught English through Drama at high school and college level.
In addition to teaching Drama and pronunciation for Trinity College, Jack conducts professional development sessions and writes teachers' resource materials for the Arts Centre's Education program. Jack is currently working on a PhD on embodied performance of gender.
Mr Roger Selleck,GradDipHist La Trobe, DipDramatic Art VCA
Roger has been involved with theatre since 1975. He has worked as an actor, stage manager, director, lighting and set designer and props maker. He has also performed in all forms of theatre, film and television. Roger has been heavily involved with theatre in education having written, produced and toured extensively throughout Victoria, NSW and the ACT. In 1985, Roger wrote, produced and directed Boys will be Boys, a video commissioned by the Victorian Education Department and Equal Opportunity Unit, which addressed sexism through male role models. Roger has also had a play and other educational material published. Roger has taught at Trinity since 1998.
Ms Joanne Wilson, BEd Vic College
Jo has been teaching drama at Trinity since 1995. Before coming to Trinity College, Jo taught in many schools across the state in the role of drama teacher and artist in residence. She has created curricula for the Education and Health Departments using drama as a vehicle for Preventative Drug Education, written and performed for theatre and Theatre in Education companies as well as organising Arts Festivals for secondary school students in remote country areas.
