Student Welfare
At Trinity College we are concerned with the overall wellbeing of each and every student, and with the quality of our life together. Helping students to integrate their studies with other aspects of life - questions of vocation, personal relationships, experiences of native and new cultures, spirituality, physical and mental health - is very much a part of our educational mission.
In addition to our committed teaching staff who hold this vision, there are also a number of staff members in each academic part of the College - residential, Foundation Studies, Theological School, and Summer Schools - dedicated to specific aspects of student welfare. These range from mentors to counsellors, chaplains to Student Services personnel - a host of people you can go to for a listening ear, or friendly and professional counsel - all within careful parameters of confidentiality.
Our student welfare staff are also well placed to make informed and appropriate referral to local health care and other services as need arises, and are helpful points of 'first resort', whatever needs, issues, or concerns our students may have.
Each part of the College structures its provisions for student welfare slightly differently, as the various links from this page show, but the aim is consistent: to care for each person as an individual, and for the community of learners as a whole.
