Living in Residence
For resident students, Trinity becomes your home for the academic year. Students arriving for their first year in the College come into residence one week before classes begin at university in order to participate in orientation activities (known as O-Week).
In a normal academic year, the standard dates of residence are:
Semester 1
New students – the Sunday BEFORE O-week (which is the full week before the commencement of university lectures, which usually is around the 1st of March)
Returners – the Thursday of O-week (five days before commencement of university lectures)
Semester 2
The Sunday before commencement of university lectures (usually late July) to the last Friday of university semester (and the conclusion of the formal examination period - usually the last week of November)
