Ms Leigh Dib,

Leigh
Dib was appointed as lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at
Trinity College Foundation Studies in 1991. Prior to this appointment ,
she had spent several years teaching English overseas in Spain, Greece
and the United Kingdom. She also taught English as a Second Language
for many years at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She
completed a BA and a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics at the
University of Melbourne. She also holds a Diploma in TESL from the
Royal Society of Arts, London.
Ms Poi Chey
Chan, BA(Hons) Sussex, MA(TESOL) UK
Upon
completing her BA(Hons) degree majoring in Geography in Sussex in the
UK, Poi began her teaching career at the Institute of Technology in
Malaysia. Her interests in English Language teaching stemmed from
teaching students of non-English speaking backgrounds. In 1990, she
joined Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore, where she taught English for
Academic Purposes in the School of Engineering. In 1999, she completed
a Master's degree in TESOL in Nottingham in the UK and in 2003, joined
Trinity College, where she is currently teaching ESL in the Extended
Program.

Mathematics
Ms Valerie Augustin, BSc(Hons) Monash, Grad.Dip.Ed Melb, BMus(Perf) VCA
Valerie has been teaching the January Extended program since 2005. She graduated from Monash where she completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours (majoring in Mathematics), obtained a teaching diploma, and taught high school mathematics full time for 2 years. She then pursued a degree in music and graduated with a performance major in orchestral percussion. She enjoys playing Bach on marimba and is currently working on an animation based on the number Zero.
Mr David Collis,
BSc(Hons), BA(Hons) Monash, GradDipTheol MCD
David
Collis began teaching at Trinity College in 1997 in the
January Extended Program for Maths. He is currently teaching Maths in
the January
Extended and February intakes. David is a graduate of Monash
University where he successfully completed a Bachelor of Science with
Honours specializing in Applied Mathematics, and also a Bachelor of
Arts with Honours in the field of Political Science. In 2004 David
successfully completed a Master of Arts in
Biblical Studies, which he gained at
the University of Melbourne. David is currently being kept
busy writing a book about the Megachurches in Australia whilst also
studying towards a PhD in Political Science.
Dr Cheryl
Filippe, BSc(Hons), PhD Monash
Cheryl Filippe completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours and then
a PhD in Astrophysics at Monash University. While still a graduate student,
she tutored undergraduate maths at Monash and began working for Trinity
College
Foundation Studies, teaching maths in the extended programs. After finishing her
thesis in 1997, Cheryl became a permanent member of staff at Trinity as a
Maths 1 tutor.
Mr Peter Hird,
BEd(Sci) Melb
Peter has been teaching Maths 1 at TCFS since 1997.
Prior to this he spent 30 years teaching in the state secondary system.
The subjects he taught included Maths, Chemistry, General Science and Physics.
Peter undertook his studies at the University of Melbourne and the
Secondary Teachers College of Victoria.
Mr Philip
Mannes, BA(Hons) Monash
Philip
Mannes has been teaching Mathematics at Trinity College since 1997.
During this time he has also assisted with the Foundation Studies
Tennis Club. Philip has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Monash
University and has an interest in reading, music and tennis.
Mr Andrew
Oppenheim, BA, MSc, DipEd Melb
Andrew
Oppenheim has degrees in Science and Arts from the University of
Melbourne. His main subject was mathematics and in particular
enumerative combinatorics. He also studied Mandarin Chinese at an
institute attached to Nanjing University. Andrew is a resident at
International House and assists that college with its academic program
and outdoor activities. He has also worked as a sessional tutor in the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Andrew’s work at Trinity has
included teaching on a variety of extended, main and fast track intakes.
Computing
Ms Alison Fisher, CertEd Leic, UK, BSc RMIT, PGDipEdStudies Melb, PGCertOnlineEd&Train Lon, MEd Melb
Alison has been with TCFS since 2001. She has an undergraduate degree in mathematics and postgraduate qualifications in education and information technology from both the UK and Australia. Her Master's thesis was on the integration of IT into a humanities pre-service teaching degree. She has taught undergraduate computing subjects in Arts and Education faculties as well as postgraduate IT and academic IT skills at the University of Melbourne. Alison also works in the La Trobe University Foundation Studies Program teaching Information Technology Fundamentals.
