AGL Shaw Postgraduate Scholarship To Oxford

University of Melbourne graduate and Trinity alumnus, Robert Tilleard (TC 2005), is the recipient of the 2015 AGL Shaw scholarship.

Robert is currently studying a Master of Philosophy in Economic and Social History at the University of Oxford. This scholarship will allow him to continue his studies there and pursue his research on Australia's economic history.

Robert is humbled and excited to have received the prestigious and generous scholarship.

“As an economic historian, I admire Professor Shaw's work,” Robert states, his area of study allowing him to enjoy “his detailed, measured and insightful scholarship”.

Robert’s scholarship will commence at the beginning of his academic year in September 2015.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

Professor Shaw, a Fellow of Trinity College, alumnus (TC 1935) and Dean (1922–1951), established the AGL Shaw scholarship in 2012.

The annual scholarship of $45,000 AUD is for tuition, residential and living costs.

Each year the scholarship is awarded to an alumnus of Trinity College who is a graduate of the University of Melbourne.

The successful candidate will have been accepted into a postgraduate course at the University of Oxford. (Preference is given to students of history, with further weight given if the student is or will be a member of Christ Church.)
